If you have ever written a paper check, you have likely used a check printed by Deluxe. This company had a long history. It started over 100 years ago and invented the flat-pocket checkbook and holder called “the little handy” in 1923. It also was hired to provide ration coupons during WWII. Through the years, it evolved with the financial industry to meet the changing needs of customers. One product offering is online payroll services. This service is offered as an addition to its human resource products. The payroll interface is also known as MyPayCenter.

In terms of payroll processing, Deluxe’s core product is its HR platform. The payroll solution is an add-on to the HR product. It is not intended to work with other HR solutions making it most suitable for businesses wanting to use or already using the Deluxe HR platform.

Unlike other payroll processing services, it does not offer a standalone product. To utilize its payroll processing, you have to use one of its HR solutions. This makes it a bit more expensive than simple payroll solutions which are often about $3 less per employee per month.

Deluxe offers three packages: Lite, Blended, and The Works. Lite includes payroll plus a “lite” HR solution. The Blended package include HR and the ability to connect to your payroll solution. The Works includes Deluxe HR and payroll.

Payroll Lite: $39 per month plus $7 per employee

Deluxe payroll helps create accurate payroll by calculating tax deductions and payments, processing benefit deductions, managing garnishments, and tracking PTO.

It helps process payroll and taxes for all 50 states in the US and the seven Canadian provinces. It is especially applicable to supporting companies that need to integrate with a POS system to manage time worked, sales commissions, and tip wages.

 


HRIS platform

As we’ve mentioned, Deluxe payroll is not a standalone product. You need to add it to one of its HR solutions. That said, its HR platform manages employee data and employments status and helps with hiring, onboarding, and talent management.

Applicant tracking and hiring features include helping to post to job boards, streaming candidate emails, supporting automated workflows, paperless onboarding, creating a searchable resume database, and helping maintain compliance.
